What am I going to do with my other bikes now - I may never ride them again.

On Sunday 9 Aug I head off home after three months in the US, mostly around Peteluma in CA. The highlights of my long holiday have been touring on my brand new BF Air Glide, resplendent in its Enno Orange Livery. After picking up my bike from Eugene in early June I pedalled my way to Corvallis, then to Newport via the scenic (read quiet) route and from there I town surfed my way to Northern California. I have been touring for the best part of 20 years and I have to say that touring on the Air Glide was a dream. It is a beautiful bike to ride, and it fitted me perfectly thanks to Dave Seybert's expert advice. The trailer followed me faithfully for most of the distance and there were literally no troubles with the bike. The trailer gave me some woes but BF leapt to the task of fixing the problems for me. I have also toured the Napa Valley and many roads around the Petaluma/Santa Rosa area. All up I have done nearly 1000miles. The bike now rests snugly in it's carry case ready for the journey home. Best bike I have ever ridden

I am very happy with Bike Friday customer service. I have talked with Tim & Ian who have been very helpful and prompt: all my questions have been answered and technical issues dealt with. Walter - this is the best bike I have ever ridden! Susan & I really like these machines - they purr down the fire roads! The AirGlide suspension is awesome. I am very happy with the parts you spec'd out for the bikes!

My favorite riding bike

I got my air glide last year. The customer service was outstanding and gave all the advice needed to build the bike for my specific uses. I ride the bike on a daily basis to work and use it on the weekends for training. If you want to go at top speed comparable to a regular road bike, I strongly recommend the Capreo rear hub. The air glide is almost as fast as other high end full frame road bikes with 28inch tires. The shifters work smooth, however after folding unfolding adjustments are sometimes needed. Also with a tripple ring (27 speed) the front derailor adjustment is trick to not avoid that the chain rubs aginst it if it sits on the smallest sprocket on the back hub.The bike fits in any trunck. This is convenent if you often go one leg of a longer travel to meet with friends or family. Riding the flexy bar takes some adjustment and I went with a reinforced titanium bar to decrease flex. The ride is very comfortable however on rough roads you feel vibration on the pedals and the handlebar which can be tiriong if ongoing for longer distances. A front suspension may help but will add weight. Things I liked/customized: chris king headset Avid cantilever brakes with travel agent 54/44/32 tooth sprocket front Capreo hub back with 9 to 26 teeth Schwalbe Stelvio tires Schimano Ultegra components (good price for quality) Have fun enjoy the ride As for speed
